Partners for Advancing Clinical Education is a community of leading educators who are known for their rich history of collaborating to facilitate the creation of meaningful learning experiences to improve health care delivery and for their efforts and professional contributions to the field of continuing healthcare education. Combined, the Partners for Advancing Clinical Education team of dedicated professionals have more than eighty-five (85) years of experience in working collaboratively to develop effective continuing education that maintains the highest level of educational integrity and accreditation standards.

Michael R. Lemon, MBA, FACEHP, CHCP – President

Michael has nearly thirty years of experience in healthcare continuing education and is committed to making a difference, which drives his passion for advancing patient care. He has been an invited speaker for numerous engagements in the areas of compliance, regulatory issues, and best practices and is a Certified Healthcare CPD Professional, past President of the National Association of Medical Education Companies, and is recognized as a Fellow by the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions. Michael earned his MBA degree from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business in Denver, Colorado. 

Allison Hughes, BS, CHCP – Senior Director of Partnership Experience

Allison is a Certified Healthcare CPD Professional, serves as a volunteer Joint Accreditation surveyor, and has over twenty-four years of experience in healthcare continuing education. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Missouri State University and began her career in marketing/event planning, and, in 2000, transitioned to medical education meeting planning. Since 2005, she has focused solely on accreditation compliance and management, joint providership, and operational efficiencies and advancements.

Samantha Mattiucci, PharmD, CHCP – Scientific Director

Samantha earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island. She started her career and spent 6 years in managed care as a clinical pharmacist at a national Pharmacy Benefits Management company. Her primary duties included clinical program development, drug utilization review, formulary management, and quality assurance. She then transitioned to medical education, where she has been working for more than fifteen years. She has worked for both a nonaccredited medical education and communications company developing content for various initiatives and for accredited provider companies. She currently serves as the Scientific Director at Partners for Advancing Clinical Education, where she manages the overall educational design, certification, and review for accredited CE activities provided by Partners for Advancing Clinical Education.

Dr. Mattiucci is licensed as a registered pharmacist in Rhode Island, and she is also a Certified Healthcare CPD Professional. She served as a volunteer field reviewer for the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and as a volunteer for the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.

Erin Puritz, PharmD, BCCCP – Director of Scientific Strategy

Erin earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy and began her career with postgraduate training as an ICU pharmacist. She went on to serve as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Cardiology/Medical ICU at Emory Healthcare for five years, where she was actively involved in clinical research, patient and provider education, and interdisciplinary care. Since transitioning into medical education, she has held roles in both content development and grant writing and now oversees strategic planning, grant development, and scientific content alignment to ensure programming reflects current clinical guidelines and addresses clearly defined practice gaps. Erin is a licensed pharmacist in North Carolina and Georgia.

Sophia Kelley, MBA – Director of Accreditation

Sophia Kelley, MBA, oversees the operations of maintaining compliance for Joint Accreditation. This includes documentation, processes, procedures, and planning.

Sophia leads the organization’s efforts to maintain compliance with Joint Accreditation requirements, overseeing documentation, processes, procedures, and planning. Prior to joining PACE, Sophia spent over a decade in hospital-based continuing medical education. Most recently, she served as Manager of Continuing Medical Education at Emory Decatur Hospital in Decatur, Georgia, where she provided leadership and direction for the physician CME program, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities. Sophia holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
